Missing your Soulmate

I miss talking to my soulmate,

Sharing things that happened today,

no matter how silly, funny or smelly,

Soulmate would usually correct me or make faces,

5 Tips for a Perfect Sex, Snuggle or Whatever

 Sniffing for a perfect partner in crime is laborious.

It’s like climbing Mt. Everest, you have to take time, prepare your gears, compose yourself and establish a soul.

If your like me, I am choosy. I play my dates, dodge them or worst ghost them with the magic “block” button.

In my 29 years of existence and over 14 years of discovering the science and accepting sex, what more important thing to do is document it the moment you discover and prove it availability.

First tip for discovering the perfect sex is: Hunting the partner  you’re

SOGIE Bill Position Paper

The truth for me when I heard the bill is an immediate NO! Because the bill is authored by one of the most non-trustworthy senators. Second is that the bill makes no sense as it only focus on LGBTQ++ discrimination letting other discriminable issues down such as color, level in the society, race, facial features, bloodline and etc. Why to single out the elimination of discrimination if you can wipe it all by presenting one bill for all as raise by Senator Nancy Binay in the senate. Besides, our country is suffering from a third world nation problem such as poverty, work crisis and epidemic diseases. While senators and law makers squander their time ending our first world country problem why not prioritize the budget on the nation on creating laws that will elevate the skills, competency and education of the Filipino people. Ease the traffic problems and decongest all roads. Fast track the ease of doing business in the country and lower down the prices of the major needs of the people such as oil, rice, shelter, and clothing.

This legislation only caters to the voices of the LGBTQ++ community. 

Yes, this applies to different circumstances as a law should be but further enhancement should be done like generalizing the discrimination for all people so everyone will not be able to be discriminate. 

This bill will not violate the rights of employers or even employees based on my opinion as this bill wants to take the LGBTQ++ community one-step forward the acceptance of the nation. As the bill trends on social media, overreaction flood most feeds and notification sections with different sides and analysis of the bill. As per my reading, this will protect the employees, will also push the employers into a more diverse pool of applicants, and will enlighten them on following the law when it comes to discrimination as already established years ago. 

The changes that this law will affect if it passes are more likely the bigger and wider avenue for the LGBTQ++ community to express themselves freely without the factor of major discrimination and stigma of being scared and being the non-enable person in the community.

This might bring a better position of the LGBTQ++ community but will also push further war between the church, other discriminated sectors, and imbalance to the society.

A bill like this should be reviewed and rectified further for the benefit of all and not few. A trickling and trending scenario regarding the discrimination in the comfort room will not shake the Filipino community into passing a law without thinking. Filipino people are enabled and have a voice now more than ever. People that use the media to establish their personal propaganda cannot easily succeed nowadays. A bill that is for ALL is a key to eliminate discrimination. Do not settle for less if you can have the best.

Position Paper – Labor Case in the Philippines “Jollibee Food Corporation Labor only Contracting and Unfair Labor Practices”

The food giant Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) was highlighted last July 17, 2018, when the house resolution was released regarding its service contractors and unfair labor practices that the company committed.

As fully mentioned in the resolution, JFC is one of the biggest companies in the Philippines employing 2,875. With this JFC also goes international bringing billions of revenue in the country. JFC is countering the labor issues that the usual employer sentiments that the status of the company will be affected if employees will be regularized that instant. The company is practicing it for a long time so why is it now.

My position is of course with the workers that already suffer a lot so why not give them a break for working the long in the company. Leaving them on contractual terms will keep the contractors taking different cuts on their salary such as Christmas Party Paluwagan, summer funds, Tulong pangkabuhayan and the like that the Department of Labor and Employment had found out on the 102 branches that were visited. Security of tenure or security of work status is not only beneficial to the workers but also to the company has loyalty will go up including morale and self-esteem while the company’s reputation will be higher. 

Contractualization, known colloquially as “endo” or “end of contract” is a common practice in the Philippines in which companies hire employees under a fixed-term contract of fewer than six months to avoid having to provide them with benefits required by law.

JFC had been told to “regularize” (make permanent) more than 6,000 of their employees but has said that this responsibility lies in the “service contractor” agencies the workers come from. This section needs refurbishing as subcontractualization is the next issue that is gray and is now providing a deviation on the labor issues. 

This scenario is not only happening with the biggest food chain in the Philippines but also to other industries. The past of the Philippine when it comes to refining the labor policies had a major glitch and these need to be polished now.  With the presence of globalization and the country rising as a hub of investment, the Philippines must refine these issues to safeguard the Filipino people and at the same time make the country more attractive to investors.

Again, the policies will be under the government’s decision making and it all boils down to political will about the implementation. The people should also support once the final approved policy is released.

Department of OFW Position Paper

As I scan, the House Bill No. 822 of the Seventeenth Congress entitled “An Act Establishing the Department of Overseas Filipino Workers (DOFW), Defining its powers and functions, appropriating funds therefor and for other purposes”, it immediately melts me. For a very long time, most Filipino houses were not complete, all those Sundays that are supposed to be a family day never happened while loneliness and parental guidance were not there for most of us all along.

It was no there because most of our family members need to work abroad for us; for our future and just to serve daily bread and milk in our table. 

The bill was normal since it is an establishment of a Government Department that will streamline the process of all policies, guidelines, and procedures for the Philippines modern heroes, “the OFWs”.

The Bill is relevant as OFWs are somewhat being neglected despite their number which is 10 million only in 2013 that brings almost 26 billion dollars in 2015. It is just right to establish a department that will focus on the OFWs welfare, benefits, protection, penalties, and the likes.

The only consequence or a risk we need to monitor like any other department of the government is the corruption and neglecting of duties. Overall, the Department of OFW is necessary nowadays as millions of Filipinos are affected, and everyone can be affected in case we choose to work abroad for our family and ourselves.

This is also the right timing to show our respect for all our modern heroes. They work hard to raise the earnings of our country lifting our economy. Ease of processing of their permits, prioritization, and benefits should be taken care-off and be pushing for them to continue living a better life whatever happens to them abroad. Some of the OFWs also suffer from worst employers but they opt to quit, as they believe that working abroad is their only way to lift their family from the slumps.

In fact, establishing the DOFW would increase the self-esteem of Filipino people who are having second thoughts of working abroad. The bill will also cover the training and development of OFWs to have flexible and diversified qualifications and further their opportunities working abroad. Most Filipino people are working as Domestic Helper but with the help of this department, OFWs might be rebranded or re-establish not as “House Maids” but much more technical and elevated workforces that most countries and employers are looking for.

In our country where political unite is not present, the community must now unite for the common good of everyone. Learning to trust and pushing for solidarity is the call today. OFWs need reinforcement and help. Let us set aside political color and do it for the better Philippines. OFWs are working so hard for us, so we also need to deliver for them especially on this predicament where they are trap on catastrophic events, war, employer abuse, fire, and other circumstances that they face alone. Establishing this department would be great and putting the best people here is also a must to remove corruption and employ sustainability from start to beginning.
